Should I tell my parents that my brother is beginning to tag/do graffiti?

My brother has been really interested in graffitti and I always see this name tagged all over his stuff. I always had a feeling that he was tagging places other than his binders. Today, on the street I saw that same name tagged the same way he writes it.

Where I live, there are tagging crews and I don't want him to be a part of that.

He doesn't know, I know that he's been tagging. Should I tell my parents?

He's 15 btw.

You need to talk to your brother... tell him that he can be put in jail if caught and your parents made to pay for the clean-up and repainting of any surfaces by property owners... ANY and ALL surfaces they desire. Plus the police can hold your parents responsible for any fines he incurs. When you add up the court fees and lawyers, we're talking tens of thousands of dollars for a single offense when it all gets done. He can be slapped in juvie. This is not something he wants.

The other thing to mention is that the tagging crews are usually associated with GANGS, which means he will be held responsible as a gang member for any gang activity... they practice "guilt by association" with teens. He needs to be careful of the company he keeps because of this.

Tell him that this is the ONLY warning he will receive from you, and if you see his marks anywhere else other than on his personal stuff, you WILL fink him out.

Suggest that he takes orders at school for custom-painted t-shirts. He can get an airbrush (how about a Binks Wren) and air tanks and really make some good money that way.
