Reverse Graffiti

is reverse graffiti illegal in Los Angeles, ca?
based on the answer i got, i'm not sure everyone knows what "reverse graffiti" is. it's the process of CLEANING dirt and grime off of walls/tunnels/etc and leaving an image made of the clean area. this image may be a tree or a flower or anything. you leave a clean space amongst the grime.
SMKADDY:
All graffiti is illegal. When I was growing up there wasn't any graffiti, all graffiti does is give places a trashy look. And the people that do it have no respect for themselves or other people and their properties.

Reverse Graffiti : Ossario : Alexandre Orion
In Australia, a man does graffiti and a woman does graffiti. The woman gets jailed and the man is let go. Why?
Most of the time, it's usually the woman that gets the slap on the wrist and the man that gets the book thrown at him.
http://www.smh.com.au/news/national/one-graffiti-vandal-jailed-the-other-wished-luck/2009/02/03/1233423204104.html
The news story above is pretty big in Australia. One woman wrote her name in a bar, and got jailed for doing graffiti vandalism and received a three-month jail sentence. Pretty harsh. A man does graffiti the next day and he's let off with a good-behavior bond. And because he's a design student, the judge wishes him luck on his future career.
It's weird to see the roles reversed. Your thoughts? Is it fair?
1. USUALLY, when a male gets convicted of graffiti in Australia, they are offered either a jail sentence or "community service". It is most usual for the Community Service, but males have gone to jail before now for Graffiti. Strange NO-ONE notices until it's a female, but, well, we males are used to that.
#2. The media have not told the full story. When interviewed, later, the girl's grandmother was adamant the girl should have gotten 18 months prison. That's the girl's OWN FAMILY thinks she should have done a PRISON sentence.
#3. It certainly appears the girl has been, shall we say, less than pleasant to be around and may well have given the judge a difficult time. This is one of the really FAST ways to get jail time. Judges tend not to like it when the defendant verbally abuses them. No, I don't know why that is.
So, to summarise, this girl vandalises and graffiti a bar, in front of almost everyone else, then bad-mouths the judge and expects to get away scot-free.
HM-MM, now is that a sense of ENTITLEMENT or what?

I really loved the reverse graffiti. I understand completely what he was saying when he tried to clean one spot that left a bigger clean spot so he ended up cleaning the whole wall. Then, that made him think he should clean the whole place. I would love to see them do it in person. I think watching the dirt get rolled away is also a cool experience.
