You think being a Fashion Designer is a good career for me?
Im a Male, turning 17, a senior in HS, living in the US and in the begining, i wanted to be a Doctor, then i want to be in Construction[ because i have experince in HS] , last month when i went to the philippines, i wanted to be a nurse for some reason, but now my mind is like focusing on clothes and sneakers and fashion. I want to be successful in Fashion with the help of my parnter and i want to make and design menwears and men sneakers.
You think this is a Great career for me?
Also i dont have any graphic experience or any sketches of fashion drawing but i do draw like art and mostly hand graffiti.
And also, do Fashion Designer make good money?
As to an answer that said you're too old. You're not. You're young. It takes artistic flair/talent, good business sense and determination to get into fashion. So if you think you have that. Some of the problem solved. If you're willing to work really hard, that you'll feel satisfied from all that work- then go for it!
Goodluck!
Success in fashion depends on the individual. Generally it's a very tough industry with high dropout rates (compared to other professions) and one of the fields with the highest unemployment rate. But that's just the statistics. If you want to go for it, do it. Design is a lot of hard work. (i know that because i'm a design student.) I'm not trying to be negative, but my point is just be aware of that, and do as much research about the fashion industry so you have a better picture of what you're getting yourself into.
The links below are a good starting point.
