what do you think of this poem?
I had to write this for school. We had to write a poem about a certain theme in a weird setting. The theme is growing up. Its about a guy going back to his hometown and realizing things arent the same as they were when he was a child. Just let me know if you like it and if its good. Also if I could do anything to make it better.Just want a general opinion. Thanks.
Returning to the hometown, can’t believe how long it’s been
Looks like a dark ghost town
Can’t figure out if it’s a dream or a nightmare
Things run down
Stores broken into
Homes destroyed
Where is this place that I do not recognize?
Can’t believe I used to live in this neighborhood
Time is cruel to certain places
Homeless in the streets
Graffiti all over the buildings
Looks like a war zone, or the aftermath of a natural disaster
Change is cruel but nothing lasts forever
reminds me of katrina, kind of sad, maybe try to make another poem with the same theme but will a happy ending and see which one you like out of the two
