Graffiti Youth Culture
Why is graffiti and vandalism so widespread in western culture but is non existent in Eastern culture?
you see tags and stuff everywhere in the street in US, UK, AUSTRALIA, CANADA but when you go to China, Japan, Korea you don't see any graffiti around. Its something to do with the youths but what is it?

The penalties in most Asian countries are very harsh for these types of anti-social crimes. Caning is still in place in Singapore as well as a prison term, while prison terms are in place in most other Asian countries, and the prisons are not nice clean social places like the Western ones.
A cement floor, a blanket, a bowl of rice and a cup of water a day. You don't get your three hearty meals, a nice cell with a tv to watch in air-conditioned comfort. It is hard going in Asian jails and 12 months can feel like years, especially if they don't want to let you have visitors, or the extras that come with them.
We are very lenient in Western society, we keep giving people second chances hoping they will learn. There comes a time when we should give up on giving them second chances and come down hard on them, everyone needs to take responsibility for the choices they take in life and stop trying to blame everybody else for their problems.

In New York City and among its youths is how hip hop was formed as a cultural movement. MCing, DJing, graffiti art, and break dancing are the four main elements or aspects that make it up. Hip Hop has also become a synonym for rap music but the two should not be interchanged. A 1960 slang word for conversation is actually where the word rap is ripped from. Rap consists of street poetry that is chanted to the accompaniment of popular disco music or funk recordings.
Dance, art, expression, pain, love, racism, sexism, broken families, hard times, and overcoming adversity is what hip hop ends up being about. It's about trying to live out the American dream from the bottom up. It's about trying to make something out of nothing; about the youth culture of New York City and other urban cities taking over the world.
With this culture, come hip hop clothing, jewelry and music. Breakin' (dance), Emceein' (rap), Graffiti (aerosol art), Deejayin, Beatboxin, Street Fashion, Street Knowledge, Street Entrepreneurialism are also terminologies that came into being.
Hip hop is characterized by most people simply as rap music today. The whole youth culture is not truly understood and the history and the current influence hip-hop has on it is not truly understood. You see rap music is just one element of hip hop.
What makes hip hop's evolution is the range of flavor the culture has to offer and what hip-hop heads thrive on is individuality and creativity, which is never more apparent than in hip-hop fashion. One of the top clothing industries in the world today is in fact hip hop fashion. It has spread quickly into being a truly universal style for people of all ethnicities and sexes but is claimed to have started in the African American community.
