Can i ever get better at graffiti?

I just starting doing graffiti. I think (or thought) i was doing good then i went on youtube to find things WAY better than mine. Stuff that i could never imagine doing. The funny part is even though the stuff that i see on youtube is really good, people still call it toyish. So is there any hope for me. I dont even know how to tag, at all. It would be nice if you can also give me a video on how to tag.

of cousre you can! its all about practice and your style.
everyone starts out toy but through dedication, practice and help they become better.
ALOT of burners have been schooled up by older kings- which you can see in their sometimes similar styles.

learning to tag is pretty simple just write your word over and over in your sketch book till you find a way that you like the look of and can hit up easily and then take it out onto the streets.

Also, do you want to be a bomber, a painter or both? some people only tag and do throwies and others do pieces and hardly ever tag so if youre not confident with tagging focus on pieces.

with the thing about some people calling the stuff you've seen on youtube toy- its really a matter of personal taste, some people think public style is toy, some think euro is toy, some people love the old school subway art style stuff some people think thats toy. Dont worry if someone says youre toy, if you like what youre doing thats whats important.

If there's some one you know that writes and you think they're really good ask them for some sketches or to school you up, alot of older writers will be happy to give/sell you a sketch or school you up- (it strokes their ego too).

dont be scared about writing, it seems like a very judgemental scene but its not really people will give you props for trying especially if you're smashing it and are dedicated.

Take every oportunity to paint even if youre unsure about your skill, the more you paint the better you'll get.

also instead of being bummed because other people are better than you use it as inspiration remembering that they started out as toys.

Look at subway art- many of the panels in that book if seen now would be called toy but people have the utmost respect for those writers, and the book itself is like the writers handbook.

believe in yourself and practice if you're dedicated you'll make it.
