   I think sometimes I’m more interested in setting than in plots and characters. Often, for me, the setting is the main character. At various times I’ve focussed on reading books that allowed me to live on alien worlds, fantasy worlds, or in the past. I also love train layouts. There was a neighbor who had a train layout with a running stream and a gorge with a waterfall over which a train trestle passed! My own train layouts were simple Christmas-only affairs. I did gather moss to stick over the tunnel to make it look like a real mountain rather than a wood box open on two ends but the town was populated by crocodiles in top hats and caroling cats.
