How come graffiti sounds like some kind of Italian pasta?


I saw "The Santa Clause" many years ago and I do not know why I'm waiting until now to ask, but the principal of the school mentioned " scraping off graffiti".. and i swear to God, i thought it sounded like an italin dish.. does it not?! lol sorry i know thi sis a retarded question.. but it's on my mind.. lol ..

Because the word graffiti comes from an Italian word, and so do the names of most pastas. We don't have a ton of other words in our language from Italian, so Italian words generally make us think of the foods that we know (or don't know so well).
