Graffiti People Drawings

layers in drawings help?
hi there! i have a problem... im awful at layering in my drawings. you know, for example graffiti art like sorta wildstyle (not that advanced, but you know).. in general, im not good when it comes to me wanting to draw a bunch of objects/people squished together..
is it all about planning ahead? im mostly in the habit of improvising off the top of my mind when it comes to drawing.. lol
so.. i wanna know, for all you who have this beautiful gift of layering, how do you start out? how long does it take? and what do you take into consideration while drawing?
any other tips & tricks would be wonderful, thanks! =)
oh and this only has to do with traditional drawing style --not digital art
lol thought i'd add that.. just in case!
Ok another edit, here is what i mean by layering: http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d52/andross4000/l_e07e70a5810e4722ad86157c97dab7df.jpg
all drawn without use of computer..
ok i'll try to re-answer this now that i know what you're talking about lol...
so far the only advice i can think of on layering is to draw things so that they go off the edges of the paper? this might help your clutter problem, and would still let you fill up the paper, but might take a bit of practice...
you could plan things out but i dont see anything wrong with just doing it from scratch, if you can (of course)
kinda like sketching out something to normally draw, if you need it, go ahead, if you know it by heart then skip it
