Graffiti Legalized
Graffiti Legalized
legalise more walls for graffiti?

do you agree that if they legalised more walls for graffiti artists, it would help solve the problem or would encourage more vandalism?

This question is one of those questions that is akin to asking, "Does capital punishment deter or prevent heinous crimes." or "Is abortion okay?" I personally think that graffiti, as an art form, has it's place. But by the same token, I'm also against the use of toxic paints or aerosol propellants that are damaging to the environment. If someone takes it upon himself to deface or alter private property without the consent of the owner, then of course I am against it. However, if graffiti artists use abandoned buildings or any structures that are obviously in decay, especially those visible to the public on which to create their works, then it's okey-dokey, as far as I'm concerned. If the paint were semi-permanent (washes off relatively easily), then other places could be utilized as "supports" and maybe even the appearances of those places could be improved upon, in as much as the appearance of the property beforehand was sad and boring.
