Graffiti Gang Signs

Is there any graffiti in your neighbourhood?
All we really get here is kids chalking on the pavements for games and that which is nothing but in some areas of my city I've noticed that graffiti is a big problem. I'd hate to live in an area with all those gang logos and in one area there's even a primary school that's surrounded with swastikas and other explicit murals on the wall which I'd thought would have been removed. Passed one graffiti sign today that said "smash Catholicism, fight the power" but to be honest I'm not sure what it means! xxxx
LOL. Yes we do. Most of the unsightly stuff is on the trains around here. But our city has made a distinct effort to minimize the crappy kind of graffiti by offering two 'legal walls' where artists can paint whenever they want, and a city wide ordinance allowing individual businesses to post 'legal wall' paint days in the paper to allow artists to come and paint on the back sides of their buildings. The group of graffiti artists get together and plan a whole scene and present it to the shop owners for approval before the paint day happens. The two 'legal walls' are in constant flux of new art. They are in plain view (one on a town walking path and one under a bridge way walking path) and always attract attention. This has increased the amount of respect and tolerance for graffiti art and artists, as well as raising the bar of their talents. There s fierce artistic competition between them. And some little dinks do ruin the good work but that just means they eventually start over fresh with a new painting.
This article has some photos so you can see what great art we have here around every corner. http://www.thebollard.com/story_interviews/tim_clorius_10.1.06.html
(BTW: gangs are not really an issue here)

Female Vandalism
Statistics show that one third of car owners are victims of vandalism, a figure that has wildly rocketed since two years ago, when this figure sat at roughly the ten percent mark..
What is more shocking however, is the revelation that there has been a fifty percent increase in the vandalism offences in adolescent females between the ages of 11 to 17. It stems from the girl gang culture that has become increasingly prevalent on Britain's streets, and initiation offences can include scratching paintwork, slashing tyres and breaking off parts like windscreen wipers and wing mirrors. Young women are now responsible for over 60000 acts of vandalism on our motors every year, a startling statistic.
Further findings revealed that over 1.5million women admitted to deliberate damage of a motor vehicle. Most said that the damage was ‘spur of the moment', down to grievances, especially with partners, while 12 percent said they felt they were pushed into it by their peers.
Car Insurance customers have been advised to park their car in a secure place overnight, as a lot of crimes are being fuelled by alcohol in the evenings. It will reduce your Car Insurance premium should you be able to enable this security, and will also add to peace of mind when you settle in for the night.
Offences with public property have also become an issue, with road signs, traffic cones and graffiti becoming a problem to society. The report revealed the main reasons for this behaviour were equally split between alcohol and boredom.

Visit FAO Schwarz for some toys for the kids, it's where Tom Hanks played the piano in the film BIG. Tell every native you can that it's shit compared to Hamleys.
