Seen Graffiti Canvas Out of the four elements of hip hop, which is the most overlooked?
Personally, I think most people respect rapping and DJ-ing as art forms, but Bboying and Graf writing don't seem to get the respect they deserve, especially since it's done for the love of the art, and not for money.
I'm a graf writer who's pissed off at the fact that museums can display graffiti in their galleries while a bunch of rich muthaf*ckaz get together to share their opinions on it, when these are the same muthaf*ckaz callin the cops when they see it being done in its true form (in the streets, and not on canvas).
What are your opinions?
I say Turntablism and Graffiti are overlooked the most. DJ's and writers don't make any money whatsoever (DJ profit goes toward travel and food expenses). Without DJ's there wouldn't be any bboys or emcees. And many people seem to think if you spin records at the radio station you're a hip-hop DJ... which is not true.
