I was wonder if I did my initials C.R. in graffiti writing and added a bit of detail into it then coloured the backround a negetive black, would that still be considered posititve and negetive drawing? well at a push yes, but as a tutor myself, I would consider it a bit of a cop out.
Stretch yourself a bit and choose something interesting/complex and just draw the negative space. Much more interesting. Ok less street, but fundamentally more interesting. Artistically it is a really important exercise and should be a A3/A2 drawing with good use of media.
