Need to get rid of a signature on a stainless steel platter?

Essentially what happened was that my cousin and coincidentally one of my bridesmaids wrote graffiti on a stainless steel platter that was acting as my guest book at the wedding. Her act of vandalism is covering up at least 3 other signatures.

My question is that people signed with a diamond tipped pen and none of the etching is very deep (people didn't realize how hard they had to write with the pen). Is it possible to get her graffiti and the ruined signatures filled in or buffed out so that those people who's signatures were ruined (including my own parents) can re-sign the guest book?

Thanks
Louise, it's not that I want engraving done....I want it undone. I'm not sure how talking to a jeweler would help?

Have you checked with a reputable jeweler? I know they do engraving.
