what is a "dofer"?
i saw it on a wall!....it was a graffiti bomb....
what does it mean?
In German "doofer" means a silly person, doof = silly
maybe the grafitti word was misspelled.
English "doffer" definition: A revolving cylinder, or a vibrating bar, with teeth, in a carding machine, which doffs, or strips off, the fiber from the cards.
(Spinning) A worker who replaces full bobbins by empty ones on the throstle or ring frames.

Is Oldham getting worse?
In Oldham there has been a spree in drunken violence and stabbings. The streets are covered in litter, graffiti covers the walls and all the bus stops are smashed up. I know some one who has had a neighbours house raided by armed police today. A few house near me have been petrol bombed recentley and at night I can often hear gunshots. Personlly I have been attacked atleast 5 times this year and my house has been burgled plenty of times. Last night there was a brawl on my street involving 7 people shouting and screaming at half one in the morning. There are a few drug dealers on my street. Allot of people Are to scared to walk the streets after half eight as the gangs roam around the street. The other week there was 5 stabbings in a bar and plenty othere since. In your opinion is this place getting worse and is there any hope for Oldham?
Some places are getting worse others are getting better.
Fitton Hill has had a lot of bad press in the past but now you wouldn't think it was the same area as it was a few years ago.
Limeside is also much quieter .
Areas like Saddleworth are in a league of there own. i.e Uppermill. Greenfield. Dobcross. Dovestones.
But places like
Glodwick
Werneth
Coppice
Clarksfield
Westwood
I wouldn't walk through if my life depended on it.
