Graffiti Art Research
Graffiti Art Research
i have a 5 paragraph research paper on how graffiti impact the world(what good has it done)cant find anything?

i have two topics(introduction) graffiti has greatly influenced artist to (1st part of body->) express themselves through art and (2nd part->) show their talents. have till next Friday need help cant find any thing

If you are fair and analyze any positive position you find I think you will discount it. Graffiti defaces public or private property.

If you or anyone else paints the side of my building with "Art" I will probably be pissed. I don't care if it considered beautiful by some or even by myself; it was placed there without any prior approval from me. That alone makes it vandalism. It is my building and the "RIGHTS" of some ghetto artist of gang tagger do NOT outweigh my rights to having the appearance I desire on my property. If I want "Art" I will commission an artist, I will describe my desires and I will expect the artist to adhere to my wishes if s/he expects to be paid.

You will undoubtedly find some bleeding heart liberal who will take exception to my comments. To them I say, get your own building and screw it up until your heart is content but stop telling me I am a racist or anything else because I value what I worked to have.

Cheers

Paralyzed Graffiti Artist Draws With His Eyes

Questions about the 1920's?

At school we are doing a unit on the 1920's.
We are making an interactive museum. We are all researching something from the 20's like Prohibition,Flappers, the music,Art etc.
So my first question is was there Graffiti or some kind of street art in the 1920's?

My second question is who were some well known female artists from the 20's?

My third question is who are some females from the 1920's that would be worth studying and/or dressing up as?

My last question is does anybody have any other ideas for interesting thing/events/people to research from the 20's?
OR any ideas for costumes?
Thanks SOOO much.

I don't think there was any graffiti around in the 1920s, though people in those days did sometimes write things on walls, as they have been doing since Roman times.

There were a lot of interesting women around in the 1920s. There were the great Jazz singers for instance, like Bessie Smith and Maime Smith. There were silent film stars like Mary Pickford, Clara Bow, Theda Bara, Tallullah Bankhead, Dorothy and Lillian Gish etc.

There were the women who flew aeroplanes, like Bessie Coleman, the first black American woman to obtain a pilot's license (she had to go to Paris to get it, no American flying school would teach her). In 1928, Amelia Earhart became the first woman to fly across the Atlantic - but only as a passenger. She did not fly the Atlantic solo until 1932.

There were sporting heroines like the tennis player Helen Wills (known as 'Little Miss Poker Face') and the swimmer Gertrude Ederle, who in 1926 became the first woman to swim the English Channel, at the age of nineteen.

The famous fashion designer of the decade was Coco Chanel, who was responsible for creating the look of the 20s woman, the sheath-like dresses, flat chests, bobbed hair etc.

Some interesting events of the decade include women getting the vote in 1920, the beginning of radio in 1921, and the Wall Street Crash in 1929, which ushered in the Depression.
