Graffiti Art From Wheres a good place to doing graffiti art?
Listen, I love being a b-boy and a deejay. I want to start getting into graffiti art. Not the idiotic gang tagging bullshit. Graffiti is an art and its exploited and given a bad name from all these 2 bit gangs.
I want to do this to expand my art. Whats a good place to start?

I was into Graffiti art for many years. I have since outgrown the doing aspect of it. I think when I started the best thing I did was to start sketching in a piece book or black book. I also started referencing various graffiti books...many of which can now be checked out for the local library. Copying other people styles is the best way to introduce yourself to drawing graffiti and then letting that lead to your own style.
I was lucky enough to have a graffiti "class" that was taught by one instructor at the San Jose art museum, and this allowed us to have "legal" walls to practice on. The spray paint "can control" does take a lot of practice to get good at.
One thing you have to accept that the illegal nature of graffiti is part of the art...you cannot separate the two.

2) The art of getting over
3) Subway Art
4) Graffiti World, Graffiti LA, Graffiti London, etc...a whole series of great graffiti from all over the world
The only advice I would give is to get really good at doing it on paper, then on plywood and then a few small outdoor projects before trying your hand at a big production (where everybody can see how bad it can look if you are not ready for something that challenging!)
