How To Graffiti What websites help me draw my name in graffiti?
I want to learn how to draw my name in graffiti but I don't know how. I want to draw it on paper not on street walls. Please help me!
Hi, my name is Philip.
I grew up with graffiti, here's the thing I started art when I was about 5, by the age of 10 I started sketching and by the age of 11 I started graffiti,........................ and still doing art and graff.
Theres No way to learn one of the earliest forms of art-graffiti, you find videos and magazines which dont help because:
it's something you develop alone with some help; everyone has a style, everyone has a different color choice etc...
everyone has their own form of art in graf, some use markers, some acrylic paint, most spray paint, brushes, stickers, lasers.... and graf evolves with technology.
Here's the best I can do to train you, like a dozen other people who now do graf through my explanations.
1- Draw you name in stick letters nicely spaced... then draw a contour and fill it in and color it (easy)
2-Draw the outline of whatever your name or word is... then fill it in and add effects, or the other way around (moderate)
3- Sketch out your composition, fill it in, add depth, do the background, add shadows, add effects.... (Creme de la creme/ Best/ Hardest)
And then find your support for it (wall, canvas, wood...) and paint or what ever will make it come to life.
Any need for help email me!
the best sites I can think of where you can learn about it and people but not how to (sorry) is
http://www.graffiti.org
http://www.graffitiresearchlab.com (which is graf using the latest technology)

the video about berlin graf artisits is very interesting. it shows how graffiti is art done mostly be young people who love their city, but that it becomes targeted as a crime when the city becomes more affluent, and wants to “upgrade” its “quality of life.” the connection between wanting to make a city pleasant for rich people and putting the broken windows theory into practice through law enforcement and punishment is not often made. great work.
