Famous Artist Graffiti
What famous artist(s) do free-associative drawing?
What I mean by free-associative is standing in front of a canvas and start drawaing whatever pops up in the head. No sketch book, no pencil, roll with the mistakes, and allow schizophrenia freely takeover.
I understand that graffiti is kinda like that in the sense that it is illegal and done on the run without carrying a sketch book but in this case, I'm looking for artists who are more formal (and legal) about free-associative drawing.
This was a big thing in Surrealism and people like Joan Miró was the main guy (although there are rumour that somebody saw him doing a painting from a sketch book). But anyway Surrealism is the biggest movement that was involved in this because it's all about the unconscious and getting what ever on your brain right onto the canvas as easily as possible. It's sometimes call 'Automatic Drawing'. So people like:
André Masson
Salvador Dalí
Jean Arp
André Breton
Not to sure about contemporary artist but I bet there are loads.
