I Need Help!!! I Need Some Advice...?

Well there is this graffiti artist her name is "Sand Oner" and she has been out for a couple years her main focus is drawing girls more of the "hood, mexican pride" type which is East LA. It so happens to be that I live in East LA and in the surrounding areas like El Sereno (born and raised) Well most recently I have been in love with "graffiti" and her style I also want to draw girls not so much as the "chicana" type but, draw female girls like cartoons. I don't know what to do because her style is dope as hell and I don't want her to think I'm stealing her art work etc. Any advice would be great!!!

her style reminds me alot of fafi, fafi's style tends to be alot softer though.

i would say, rather than to directly copy her style, look at what you like best in her style and apply it to yours. check out fafi graffiti as well, you may also like that. thats how illustrators come to be, most of them take details from other artists they admire, adapt it for their style and make it thier own. it may seem like outright copying now, but eventually it will morph into your own thing. thats pretty much how i started. :]
