I want to start Photography?


I want to start photography, and im not sure what to do as a beginner.
What programs would i need? (preferably free ones)
What kind of Camera (although i think a digital SLR would be the one)
and What are some things you can take pictures of? i mean like those pictures that don't really mean anything... but look nice.. For example a lake view.. or something as simple as graffiti on a wall.

If you already have a camera but don't know what to photograph, I suggest you take the one you have and work on composition and subject matter before you invest hundreds into a DSLR system.Download the free program Gimp and work your way around that program, as well. The camera and program will not make you a good photographer and you may be wasting your hard earned money to run out and buy something you don't know how to use. Give yourself at least six months to see if this is really where you are headed.
