hello just had my firsst comment saying illegal shit or summot like that. to you its just like paint on a wall fair enough but im not looking to go out on streets and wreck everything that gets in my way the words BLACK BOOK meann a book full off graffiti (not effecting anyone else) i want a tag so i can tag the ART i do not go and tag walls and shit, i respect people that do graffiti ~ART!!

Seriously the person above me is an asshole. And don't worry about them LeWis, there are plenty of ignorant idiots on Answers just posting answers to get points and don't even read the question.
Anyway getting onto the answer!
So you've started throw up? Well first you have to have your tag name. Have you decided on a tag name for yourself yet? And when you have decided on a tag name, that's when you need to get to work on your signature. Forget your throw ups for the moment. Throw ups usually have the first or last two letters of your tag name unless you're using throw ups as an excuse to do a really rushed piece.

Anyway, your signature is what you're going to be using for tagging. Tagging sigs are always messy and are easy and quick to do. You shouldn't have to spend time doing a tag, it's quick and fast. The most common things you will find in a fancy tag are:

- Dots
- Lines
- Arrows

It helps to look at tutorial sections on websites such as DeviantArt. You can also find like-minded graffiti artists there. Another great site is www.dafont.com. In the graffiti section they have lots of tagging fonts which might help you out.
Developing your own tagging style is key. You don't want to be labeled a copycat or a toy.

:: A "toy" is an inexperienced writer that is new to the world of graffiti ::

Once you develop your own tagging style, you can start bombing. Remember if you are ever bombing to tag also, signing your name with your signature beside your piece.

Have fun with your blackbook! Funnily enough I just bought a new one today (my 2nd) and can't wait to get started on some new pieces. If you ever put some pieces up around your area, I'd love to see them!
And don't be afraid to contact me again, I'll always be on hand to help.
