Catcher in the rye title significant to holden's character- essay topic- need help with main body paragraphs


I'm writing an essay for literature. My topic is 'The novel's title is significant to Holden's character throughout the story. Discuss'
I'm trying to think of main body paragraphs.. are any of these suitable. If they are which order should I put them in. Are there any other better body paragraphs?

1) Holden finds corruption, vulgarity, harm and havoc in the society
2) Only thinks children are not phonies
3) Wipes graffiti off walls of Phoebe's school as he doesn't want children to know bad words
4) Allie's death makes him want to keep children young forever so they won't pass on

Not sure if any of those are suitable.

I don't really think you needed any help, you seem to be doing a great job yourself.

i would order them 1, 2, 4, 3. It would be good though to use 3 as evidence you've found in the text for 3. Here it might also be useful to mention how he takes to the nuns; they seem to have a childlike innocence to them that he admires.

You could also find other instances where Holden may have found vulgarity, corruption and other such behaviours with how other people behaved at school, or mention the incident with the prostitute.

I don't really think that i can have added much more to what you've already said, and that you seem to have a very good understanding of the book. :D
