From Banksy to Bristol Sound, there's nothing holding Bristol back when it comes to continually innovating and reviving stumbling arts scenes - which makes it a constantly exciting city to visit. Always offering something new for visitors, Bristol is packed with countless opportunities to take in the most staggering artworks, the cutting edge of new music and extraordinary experimentation with the film industry.
Essentially, no matter what form of the arts you're into, there's a high chance that Bristol will impress as it is always changing. As a creative hub for myriad artists, musicians and filmmakers, there's a sense of the quest for innovation in the Bristol air and you can enjoy breathing this in whilst exploring many of Bristol's independently owned cafes and bars, where you'll be able to find unique designs and comfortingly good service.
Don't spend all your time having coffee and snacks, though - there's so much to see that you'll be pushed for time to do it all whether you're staying for a weekend or an entire week! With many art galleries, film and television studios, theatres, museums of cinema and photography and countless other establishments dedicated solely to the arts, you could find yourself running out of time far more rapidly than you expected.
That's before you even think about heading on the Banksy tour, a trip around the city to take in many of the esteemed artist's most iconic works. A famous satirist, the semi-anonymous Banksy is believed to have grown up in Bristol and lives there now, with fresh pieces cropping up on city walls every now and then, astounding locals and bringing tourists from all over.
Despite being a graffiti artist, Banky's innovative and avant-garde style has brought him to the forefront of new British art and he is considered one of the spokespeople of the Bristol underground scene.
There's plenty to take in while visiting Bristol - and you never know who you could bump into either, with many famous actors such as Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Patrick Stewart being locals and comedians Lee Evans and Justin Lee Collins all being Bristol born. Even if you're not looking to spot the odd celebrity or two, there's plenty to take in when you're not relaxing in hotels in Bristol, from street art to the most inestimable art gallery collections and from small independent films to the biggest new instalments in British cinema and television.
